Consistency Checker:

The consistency checker will be a native speaker of the source language and also have knowledge of the target language. For example, if the translation is from Japanese to English, the checker will be a native speaker of Japanese with a knowledge of the English language. The checker will perform the following checks:
1) An omission check to ensure that all sentences, numerals, etc. have been included in the translation.
2) A consistency check to ensure that terminology has been translated in a consistent manner.
3) A meaning check to ensure that the meaning of the translation is the same as the meaning of the source document.
4) An antecedent basis check (in the case of patent documents).
